World prematurity day: “Sometimes’, said Pooh, ‘the littlest things take up the most room in our heart” – A. A. Milne
Today is World Prematurity Day. Every year, over 15 million babies are born too soon. Of these, over 1 million will never make it home. Prematurity is the number 1 cause of newborn death, and babies who survive an early birth are often left with lifelong health challenges. Parents of these tiny miracles are also 2.5x more likely to suffer from post-natal depression, and many are left with PTSD from the physical and emotional trauma of it all.
To help raise awareness this #WorldPrematurityDay, a group of artists have joined forces with #TogsForPreemies to shine a light on this global issue. Join us, share your story with #purpleforpreemies, or please also consider donating to one of these charities dedicated to helping preemies survive and thrive!
That’s the post I’ve shared on Instagram for world prematurity day, trying a little hair arrangement with purple dried flowers 💜. Let’s raise awareness and support each other!
